CCTV: Is It Worth It?

CCTV: Is It Worth It?

CCTV has been a common fixture in shops, pubs, car parks and other public places for years. Now, thanks to easier installation and falling prices, it’s becoming an increasingly popular choice for security-conscious homeowners. It’s not for everyone though as although cameras can be bought on their own, they can be pricey!

Cameras can also be bought as part of a whole security package. Costs can range from low to high for a vandal proof camera with a great night vision range. You of course also have to purchase equipment to accompany the camera, depending on which type you choose, such as connectors and a digital video recorder to store and view the footage. You can also buy dummy cameras quite cheaply as deterrents. CCTV is just one line of defence against crime and works best when combined with other measures, such as a burglar alarm, door and window locks, gravel around the property and security lights. Bear in mind that the measure you take have to be legal: there’s no requirement for Home Alone style prank set ups!

Wired home CCTV systems are the most common and cheapest type of camera, where a wire plugs directly from the camera to the monitor. The downside is that the wires which includes the extension cables and connectors, can be difficult to install. With wireless systems, images can be transmitted using analogue or digital technology to your computer, tablet or mobile smartphone. Many smart security cameras link to an app that you can use to monitor your home while you’re out and about. Digital cameras are generally higher quality but more expensive. Wireless systems can suffer a bit of interference from devices such as routers, cordless phones and microwaves and can be blocked by heavy masonry or metal objects. Your filming may also be interrupted if you lose your internet connection.

Companies such as http://www.afass.co.uk can advise on the right systems you should use for your home and if you are choosing to use CCTV cameras outside the home, make sure they are weatherproof – an international protection (IP) rating of six is recommended here. Wireless cameras are available but you’ll still have to run a cable to a power source. Position cameras where they cannot be tampered with, but can be accessed for maintenance and cleaning. You can buy vandal-proof cameras but these tend to cost more.

Indoor CCTV cameras come in three types: wired, wireless and powerline networked and these plug into your electrical sockets and transmit images to a storage device. Wireless cameras are not recommended inside the home unless the signal can be encrypted as anyone within range and using a suitable receiver would be able to view the images. CCTV image quality is linked to the size of the chip is uses and cameras with tiny chips also tend to be able to pick up less light, and therefore produce lower quality image so make sure you choose a camera with bigger chips for better image quality.

Are Branded Earphones Better?

Oct 3, 2016 by

Are Branded Earphones Better?

This is a difficult question to answer. If you say yes, then consumer groups will accuse you of being biased and favoring a certain brand. If you say no, then manufacturers will accuse you of undermining their product as well. So, are branded earphones better than generic earphones? It all depends on a host of factors that affect the product. At http://www.pocketrocketuk.com a marketing decision is already made to carry only branded earphone. There are valid reasons for this decision. When you market a product, you either choose to be a generalist or a specialist.

It depends on Technology Used

Cheap technology produces cheap products. Expensive technology and research produce superior products. This is the formula when it comes to technology. But there is a precaution here. Technology can be easily stolen through the use of reverse technology method. While this can happen there will still be areas of the technology that can never be taken. This is the advantage of branded products. Quality cannot be stolen. Yes, certain portions of the technology can be stolen but not everything. There will still be areas where the branded earphone will have a distinct advantage.

pj0ilvs7qlIt depends on Materials Used

This is an area of concern. Some materials may look the same, but they are not. A case in point is plastic. While plastic may look the same, it is not true. Some are made of high-quality materials that can resist heat, wear, and tear. Others look the same, but they decay in such a short time. Branded earphones use the best materials available. Some materials are so exclusive that you cannot purchase them elsewhere but only in specific suppliers. This is one reason why branded earphones always have the advantage of quality over generic brands. Generic brands can only duplicate the looks, and that is all there is to it.

yodpj7kvc9It depends on Assembly Method

Assembly method or the manufacturing process is always the technological edge of branded earphones. The process is a trade secret because it is where the edge comes in. Another issue is that of product quality control. Generic products may not have the same strict product quality controls. There is no name to protect, and this can affect quality. In branded products, there is a reputable to protect and so stringent quality control measures are always in place. Replacement of defective products is also not available in generic products. Only branded earphones are capable of accepting defects and replacing defective products.

In summary, branded earphone are better. It is better in quality, better in sound reproduction and better in its warranty. If you want your music listening pleasure to be trouble free, it is advisable to invest in a good quality branded earphone. This will give you hours of trouble free listening pleasure. While generic phones may be cheaper and may sound the same, this is only a perception. When measured with a device, the music reproduction does not come at par with branded earphones.

Creating the Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)

Aug 24, 2016 by

Printed Circuit Boards should be manufactured and produced in a clean environment. This is to avoid air contamination with the raw materials etched to the Printed Circuit Boards. Each of the companies and manufacturers for the Printed Circuit Boards have their own kind and way of proprietary processes. You can check and get more details from http://www.nemco.co.uk for its exclusive way of manufacturing Printed Circuit Boards.

Producing and Creating the Substrate

First, what is a substrate? A substrate is the base of the board or the very most seed of the circuit board. A glass fiber is needed to feed a process where it is being sprayed and dipped with epoxy resin. After which, the impregnated glass fiber will be put through a rollers to design it to its designed thinness or thickness and to remove extra and excess epoxy resin.

Then, the impregnated glass fiber will then be put into an oven where a semi-cured is done. After the oven, the product will be cut into large panels. Then the copper sheets are being applied to the panels with different number of layers with they are being pressed with a temperature of around 340 Fahrenheit for like an hour or more thus creating and  curing epoxy resins and binds the copper sheets and foils tightly to the surface of the substrate material.

The Holes Will be Drilled

The substrate or circuit boards are now large enough to make enough space for a single printed circuit board. These are stacked up on top of each other and are clipped to keep them from moving while the drilling process is going on; they will be drilled according to the designed and planned circuit board.

Each of the holes are designed to function a and provide a conductive circuit of the printed circuit boards and from one side of the board to the other side of the board through the copper sheets.

Making the Printed Circuit Board Pattern on the Substrate Material

There are two ways in manufacturing and creating the Printed Circuit Board. The first kind or way is the additive process. In this process of creating the Printed Circuit Board is that the copper sheet is plated or is being added to the substrate in the planned and desired pattern leaving the rest of the surface and spaces not plated. The second way of creating the PCB pattern on the substrate surface is the subtractive process. In this process, the substrate is being plated first and the areas that are not being plated are being etched and subtracted away.

Mounting All the Components

Each of the printed circuit boards pass through several machines which place each of the raw materials and electronic components in their desired and proper location and placement on the substrate or board. With the specialized and high quality computer operated systems, the Printed Circuit Board is manufactured and being produced with perfection even to the smallest details. PCB Assemble Companies has their exclusive way of manufacturing Printed Circuit Boards.

Electronics Manufacturing: Nothings Beats Manpower

Aug 24, 2016 by

In every device and innovation that has taken place in the past years lies manpower. Every brilliant invention and innovation has behind them some brilliant inventors, programmers and minds who are working together to produce and make the electronic devices that would make the lives of every human easier to live. None of these things would have existed without the brilliant minds working together to achieve goals and missions for the good and benefit of the humankind. One great living example of a manpower working with the best of their abilities to achieve client satisfaction is the http://www.nemco.co.uk/; you are welcome and free to check the link and read more about how electronics manufacturing is done and served with the contract they are offering in United Kingdom.

Like the saying goes, “two heads are better than one”. This means that when everybody would work, unite and cooperate together, a state of the art product is very possible to achieve. This also means that no man is an island; which indicates that in every invention it is a group of people contributing to develop more about the device, machine or product being made and manufactured.

Brilliance at its best!

Time really flies so fast. About 100 years ago, life was very different. People were living a different kind of lifestyle. Though, during that time, people were also very happy and they felt privileged to have experienced some of the first electronic devices being invented by humans. However, electronic devices before were very expensive and there were only few who could afford to buy one. Owning an electronic device in that time meant a high social status in the community. Electronic devices were once a luxury and accessory. It was like jewelry that only rich people could afford. In that time, electronic devices were not considered a necessity but they were only considered accessory things and secondary needs. People did not realize yet the importance of electronic devices.

But, all of the people should be thankful for those times. Because if electronic devices were not being introduced during that time, then, try to imagine living a life with low technology. If the electronic devices were introduced later on, can you imagine what kind of lifestyle you might be living at present? To get a more in depth idea, check http://www.nemco.co.uk.

It is now very impossible to imagine a life without these electronic devices. Do not also forget to thank and honor those people who have contributed to the innovations and developments of the electronic devices. There are still so many people who do not get tired of manufacturing and figuring out more ways on how to add and develop technologies and electronic devices to make life even easier to live.

Do not ever forget how electronic devices evolved because each of the phases of evolution of electronic devices plays a vital role in the present development and innovations of modern electronics. Most of all, be thankful for those who invented these devices and introduced them to the humankind.
